Revision on Numbers 0 to 1000
Dear children,
How has school been today? I hope that you will take time to log-on to lead.com.sg and try the P2 Maths Activity on 'Numbers to 1000'.
Here is a little recap on some of the important concepts which we have learnt:
(1) Counting beyond 100
- 1 more than 115 >> 115 + 1 = 116
- 1 less than 115 >> 115 - 1 = 114
- 10 more than 115 >> 115 + 10 = 125
- 10 less than 115 >> 115 - 10 = 105
(2) Hundreds, Tens and Ones
- 4 hundreds 6 tens 2 ones = 462
400 + 60 + 2 = 462
- In 462, the digit
4 is in the hundreds place.
6 is in the tens place.
2 is in the ones place.
- 5 ones = 5
- 58 ones = 58
- 2 tens = 20
- 10 tens = 100
- 78 tens = 780
(3) Comparing Numbers
We can compare which number is greater.
a) We compare the hundreds.
b) We compare the tens when the hundreds are the same.
c) We compare the ones when the tens are the same.
Enjoy and have fun! =)
